24 Hours in BozemanBy: Abbey Smith, 1 year 7 months ago |
Run/Walk/Bike: The Gallagator is just one trail in the city of Bozeman’s effort to connect downtown with the surrounding mountains. “Main Street to the Mountains” is a sprawling, 60 mile trail system of well-traveled, gravel paths perfect for running and walking. Sponsored by the Gallatin Valley Land Trust, who’s motto is “by building trails we build community”, the Gallagator is my favorite way to get a quick run or walk the dog. It’s also a great way to familiarize yourself with the city and enjoy the local community. Hyalite Canyon is a popular road ride for cyclists and boasts quality ice climbing in the winter. For mountain bikers, the Bangtail Divide is legendary. Twenty-three miles of singletrack climbs from 5,500 to nearly 8,000 feet.
