24 Hours in Bozeman

Hike: The "M" Trail This short but steep thighburner quickly takes you to fantastic panoramas of Bozeman. At the mouth of beautiful Bridger Canyon, the “M” Trail is a lung-pounding way to access the Bridger Range, where the famous Bridger Ridge Run takes place every August. The rugged and extremely popular twenty mile trail race traverses the entire Bridger Range. The “M” Trail is family and dog-friendly, culminating in an up close view of the huge Montana “M” made with white-painted stones. Another recommendation is Hyalite Canyon, just outside Bozeman. This gorgeous, meandering canyon opens up to the spectacular Hyalite Reservoir. There’s a plethora of trailheads and campgrounds to choose from as you head up to the reservoir. I recommend the hike to Emerald Lake— it’s exquisite.
