Nathan Bancroft, 24, wanted to make a different kind of climbing film. It took about seven months, and he called it 'Reach'.

Bancroft's feature-length climbing debut is as much about hard bouldering as it is about the visual landscapes climbers often get to experience.
With a fresh and creative eye, Bancroft follows climbing pioneers like Daniel Woods, Dave Graham, Zach Lerner and Jon Cardwell as they travel to bouldering destinations in Colorado, New Mexico, and Brazil and develop some of the the world's hardest climbs.
"I wanted to move away from the typical storyline and focus on the movement and excitement and landscape of rock climbing," says Bancroft, a New Mexico native whostudied photography at the University of New Mexico and has been climbing since he was 11 years old. "I knew from the beginning "Reach" would be radically different and that it might not resonate with the people who typically buy climbing films. For our sport to grow, we need to show what's beautiful about rock climbing rather than constantly pitching it to the core demographic. This film was my attempt to show what I find beautiful about this sport."
'Reach' is sensual, slow-mo eye candy for rock lovers. Check it out!

This is a significant step forward in the progression of climbing films. As said, it is as much about art and movement of the camera as the climbing. Your $15 for the download will be well spent.
